Compare Busbar Machine Quotations by the Complete Supplied Scope

Two busbar machine quotations can show the same model class and a very different supply. One may include a usable tool set, material supports, software and a witnessed sample trial. Another may list the machine only. Comparing the total prices before aligning those items can make the shorter quotation look cheaper while leaving essential decisions unresolved.

Create one scope table for every supplier. Keep technical capability, supplied items, services and commercial terms in separate sections, then mark each line as included, optional, buyer-supplied or not offered. This makes questions visible without assuming that every project needs the same package.

Confirm the exact machine and version

Record the manufacturer, full model designation and quoted version. A family name is not enough when standard, wider-format, servo-positioned and portable configurations have different functions. Link the quotation to a dated technical attachment so that a later revision does not silently replace the configuration being compared.

For each required operation, list the material and working range in the orientation used on the drawing. Separate cutting, punching, main-direction bending and edge bending. A single maximum thickness and width should not be assumed to apply to every operation or direction. The busbar machine selection guide explains how to start from representative parts rather than a catalogue maximum.

Use a specific product record, such as the MOTI-50-3NC configuration, as the initial reference and ask the supplier to identify any difference in the offered version.

This MOTI-50-3NC composite labels several machine components. A quotation should state the actual model, controls and supplied items instead of relying on a family illustration.

Describe positioning and operator work separately

Write down which dimensions are positioned by the machine, the relevant axes or gauges, their stated travel and the operations where they apply. Then list what the operator still handles: loading stock, moving the part between stations, rotating it, selecting or changing tools, supporting long bars and checking the finished piece.

This prevents “CNC” or “automatic” from becoming a substitute for a process description. Compare the quoted configuration with the same drawing and batch route. If servo positioning is central to the decision, request a trial using your part rather than inferring finished-part output from an axis list.

Electrical configuration also belongs to the exact quoted version. The site power checklist covers voltage, phase, frequency, installed power and the responsibility for local protection and connection. Do not treat a country name as a complete electrical specification.

Itemize every tool and accessory

A line reading “standard dies included” is difficult to compare. For punching tools, list quantity, shape, size, punch-and-die pairing and machine interface. For bending, identify the purpose, workpiece range and any dedicated U, Z, edge, embossing, twisting or combined forming tool. Separate included tools from optional tools and recommended spare or wear items.

Also record material supports, stops, foot controls, guards, pumps and hoses where they are separate, as well as any loading or handling accessory. The tooling and sample preparation guide helps turn the finished drawing into an itemized tool list.

The published tooling composite shows a range of possible operations. It is not a standard-inclusions list; the quotation should identify each supplied tool for the selected machine and workpiece.

Keep software, documents and training visible

If the machine uses programs or design files, state the controller and software scope, version where relevant, license arrangement, supported file workflow and supplied backup. A demonstration with one prepared file does not establish compatibility with every CAD format or production system.

List the supplied manuals, electrical drawings, parts information and language. Define remote or on-site training by subject, duration, location, number of participants and responsibilities. “Training included” can otherwise mean anything from a video call to a site visit, with different travel and scheduling assumptions.

Use one sample and acceptance basis

Attach the same representative drawing, revision, material and inspection points to each quotation request. State whether the offer includes material testing, a tooling sample, a pre-shipment machine trial or site acceptance. These are different scopes.

The sample acceptance record shows how to identify samples, requirements, measured results, deviations and the final decision. Keep untested materials and shapes outside the approved scope. If the drawing changes during the quotation process, apply the drawing revision method to the machine, tool and trial attachments.

Compare packing, delivery and site work

Record the number of packages, packing method, final packing dimensions, gross weight and lifting information for the quoted supply. Machine dimensions and net weight do not answer the same transport questions. Identify which party handles unloading, movement to position, installation, electrical connection and commissioning.

Use the same destination and agreed delivery basis when comparing transport-related amounts. State which documents are supplied and whether taxes, duties, local charges or site work are included or excluded. The delivery and support guide provides the wider installation checklist.

MOTI's HEMACK project collage documents wrapping, crating and loading stages. Final package size, gross weight, count and handling information should come from the actual quoted order.

Make commercial and service terms comparable

Place machine price, tools, software, supports, packing, transport and services on separate lines before reviewing the total. Use the same currency and quantity basis. Record quotation validity, payment milestones, the event that starts the delivery period and the documents or approvals needed before production can proceed.

For warranty and support, state the start point, duration, coverage, exclusions, response channel and responsibility for labour, travel and freight. List recommended spares and their quoted status. Do not assume that a free item has unlimited scope; describe it in the same way as a priced item.

Price alone cannot show whether two offers meet the same technical requirement. First resolve material, operation, tooling, power, acceptance and delivery differences. Then compare the remaining commercial alternatives with those differences visible.

Send one controlled request to every supplier

Send MOTI your representative drawings, material range, destination and site power. Include your comparison table or the scope questions still open. We can return a machine, tooling and service proposal against the same defined basis.
