Specify the process before the machine
A standard 3-in-1 machine divides its workstations between cutting, punching and bending. This order concentrated on hole processing and blank preparation. The supplied arrangement has two punching units and one cutting unit, making the operation mix itself part of the machine specification.
Two six-position punching turrets
Each punching unit has a six-die turret. Multiple hole tools can therefore be kept available at each unit. For a similar production problem, the important inputs are the number of holes per part, the hole shapes and the frequency of changing between them. A second station is an option to evaluate against those requirements, rather than a guarantee of a particular output increase.
Independent power and material supports
The reported machine has three motors and hydraulic units, plus three detachable, height-adjustable material supports. The controls are manual. The supports and operator positions need to be considered together with the stock length and transfer between the cutting and punching units.
